Your agreement with TEETETO

Clear terms for a fair relationship

These terms govern your use of the TEETETO platform. They are written to comply with Italian and EU consumer protection law. Please read them carefully before using the service.

Service Description

TEETETO is an AI-powered document processing platform. Users upload files (audio, documents, images) and TEETETO processes them using artificial intelligence to produce transcriptions, extractions, and summaries. The platform also includes an Academic Profile feature for tracking schools, subjects, grades, credits, and related learning insights.

Output quality depends on input quality and the capabilities of the underlying AI models. Per Art. 49(1)(a) D.Lgs. 206/2005.

Contract Formation

Per Art. 12 D.Lgs. 70/2003 — technical steps to conclude the contract:

4The contract is concluded when payment is successfully processed. A confirmation is displayed on screen, and Stripe sends a payment receipt to your email

Contract storage

The contract is archived electronically and accessible via your account settings. You may request a copy at any time by contacting [email protected].

Error correction & languages

Before submitting your order, you can review and correct all entered data. Account information can be updated from your profile. Contract available in English and Italian.

Account & Eligibility

Age requirements

Minimum age varies by country (GDPR Art. 8, range 13–16):

  • Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Lithuania, Spain: 14+ (Italy: Art. 2-quinquies D.Lgs. 196/2003)
  • Czech Republic, France, Greece, Slovenia: 15+
  • Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia: 16+
  • South Korea: 14+ (PIPA)
  • Australia: 16+ (Online Safety Amendment Act 2024)
  • Default (including US): 13+

Account security

You must keep your credentials confidential and notify TEETETO immediately at [email protected] upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.

Academic Profile availability

Academic Profile is currently available for high school, university, and postgrad users. Elementary and middle-school profile levels will only be enabled once a parental-consent flow is available in jurisdictions that require it.

School and grade data

School names, subjects, grades, credits, and imported transcript data are provided by you or imported from third-party sources at your request. Except for server-side digital signature checks on supported ELMO files, TEETETO does not independently certify that educational data is correct.

Pricing & Payment

Per Art. 49(1)(e,g) D.Lgs. 206/2005:

Italian customers

EU consumers outside Italy

If cross-EU B2C sales exceed the €10,000 threshold, destination-country VAT applies via the OSS (One Stop Shop) regime.

Right of Withdrawal

Per Art. 52–59 D.Lgs. 206/2005 (implementing Directive 2011/83/EU):

Exception for digital content

The right of withdrawal expires if you: (a) give express prior consent to begin performance before the withdrawal period ends; (b) acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal; and (c) receive confirmation on a durable medium (email). Per Art. 59(1)(o) D.Lgs. 206/2005.

By subscribing, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of the service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service begins. Confirmation of this consent is sent to your email address on a durable medium (email receipt).

Subscription, Renewal & Cancellation

Per Art. 49(1)(q,r) and Art. 65-bis D.Lgs. 206/2005:

Auto-renewal protection

TEETETO sends an email notice at least 30 days before renewal with the renewal price and cancellation deadline. If TEETETO fails to send this notice, the renewal is non-binding and you may cancel immediately at any time, without notice period and without penalties (Art. 65-bis D.Lgs. 206/2005). To cancel, use your account settings or contact [email protected].

Legal Guarantee of Conformity

Per Art. 49(1)(n) D.Lgs. 206/2005 and D.Lgs. 173/2021 (implementing Directive 2019/770):

Service must function as described in §01
Security updates must be provided
Accessible for the full subscription period
Burden of proof on TEETETO for the full supply period

Remedies

If the service does not conform: (1) bringing into conformity; (2) proportionate price reduction; or (3) termination with full reimbursement, where the lack of conformity is not minor.

Service Modifications

Per Art. 19 Directive 2019/770, modifications beyond what is necessary to maintain conformity will only be made if:

Conditions for modification

  • The contract permits it and provides a valid reason (e.g., adapting to new legal requirements, integrating new technology, or maintaining security)
  • The modification is implemented at no additional cost to you
  • You are informed clearly and in advance of the modification

Your right to terminate

If a modification negatively impacts your access to or use of the service, you may terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of being notified of the modification or of the modification being implemented, whichever is later.

Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain all IP rights in uploaded content. TEETETO receives a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to process it solely for service delivery. This licence terminates when you delete the content or close your account.

AI outputs

Under Italian copyright law (Legge 633/1941, as amended by Law 132/2025 Art. 25), copyright requires human authorship. Purely AI-generated outputs may not be copyrightable. You are free to use outputs, but TEETETO makes no representation as to their copyright status.

Moral rights

Moral rights (Art. 20 Legge 633/1941) are inalienable under Italian law and are not affected by these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

×Use the service for any illegal activity or to violate any applicable law
×Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
×Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
×Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
×Upload malware, viruses, or any malicious code
×Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or other users' accounts
×Use automated tools to scrape or extract data without permission

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

Limitation of Liability

TEETETO excludes liability for indirect or consequential damages arising from simple negligence (colpa lieve), capped at the fees paid by you in the prior 12 months. Three distinct legal limits apply:

Art. 1229 Codice Civile

Liability for wilful misconduct (dolo) and gross negligence (colpa grave) cannot be excluded or limited.

Art. 36(2) D.Lgs. 206/2005 (Consumer Code)

The following clauses are always null and void: (a) clauses excluding liability for death or personal injury; (b) clauses restricting the consumer's actions or rights for non-performance; (c) clauses extending consent to terms the consumer had no opportunity to know before concluding the contract.

D.Lgs. 173/2021 (Digital Content Directive)

The mandatory legal guarantee of conformity for the full supply period (see §08) cannot be limited or excluded by contract.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Applicable law

Italian law (Codice Civile and D.Lgs. 206/2005 — Consumer Code). Per Rome I Regulation (Reg. (EC) 593/2008) Art. 6(2), the mandatory consumer protections of the consumer's country of habitual residence are preserved regardless of the law chosen by the parties.

Jurisdiction

Per Brussels I bis (Reg. (EU) 1215/2012) Art. 17–19, EU consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their domicile. TEETETO may only bring proceedings against consumers in the courts of the consumer's domicile.

Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution

For any dispute, please contact [email protected] first. We will endeavour to resolve the matter promptly.

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

ADR is available through a mediation body accredited by the Italian Ministry of Justice, per D.Lgs. 206/2005 Art. 141-decies. Consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in court at any time.

Note: The EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform has been repealed by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, effective 20 July 2025. This section will be updated upon national transposition of Directive (EU) 2025/2647 (new ADR framework), expected by 20 September 2028.

Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Italian Privacy Code (D.Lgs. 196/2003). For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

School autocomplete suggestions are derived from open government datasets that we copy into our own systems. No user profile data is shared back with those public source registries.

AI Disclosure

We use third-party AI and cloud infrastructure providers to deliver the service and process uploaded content. All outputs are AI-assisted and should be reviewed by the user for accuracy and completeness. Outputs are not designed to meet regulatory, legal, or other compliance obligations, and are not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Always refer to the original source material.

Note: From 2 August 2026, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) Art. 50 will apply transparency obligations to AI-generated content. TEETETO already provides this disclosure voluntarily.

Content Moderation & DSA Transparency

To the extent TEETETO qualifies as a hosting service under Digital Services Act (Reg. (EU) 2022/2065) Art. 3(g)(iii), the following applies per Art. 14:

Content restrictions

TEETETO may restrict content that violates §11 (Acceptable Use) or applicable law. Moderation is primarily human-reviewed. Automated checks (e.g., file type validation, malware scanning) may also apply.

Transparency & remedies

Users will be informed of the specific reasons for any restriction, the applicable rule, and the available remedies. Contest any decision by contacting [email protected].
